‘Chateau Rouge!?’ I hear you say.
You are probably thinking I am somewhere in the heart of France enjoying afternoon tea in a Château. I wish I was – I love tea and I love châteaux. In actual fact Chateau Rouge is the name of a luxury tea company based in London.
We’re feeling very philosophical this lazy autumn Sunday afternoon at ‘le Chateau’ (aka Chateau Rouge Teas home). Enjoying a delicious pot of Earl Grey Leaf Tea in one of our new glass tea pots and pondering over some beautiful dreamy poetry thanks to Laura…
Maybe this has happened to you… Someone loves coffee. You love tea. You want to be more than co-hot-drinkers. If only your “someone” would share your sipping. It’s a hard road, to convert someone from one hot-drink preference to another. Not that you would presume to try such a thing. But what if you had a moment of naughty intention, just for the sake of… you know, bonding over loose leaves?
We often asked why ‘Chateau Rouge’ and why French tea sold in England? Well the answer is really simple, besides being in love with both Paris and London, finding it impossible to have to live in only one or the other, and creating a brand that enables us to have both. The real question you may be asking is, if England is known the world over for it’s love of tea and in many ways for creating the ‘afternoon tea’ tradition, then how does France fit into the picture and do they really drink tea in France?
We got a new mantle clock and looking at the lovely bright design I remembered the Press Event tea tasting at Harvey Nichols this last week. A Picture moment...Earl Grey and cake for afternoon tea today with all the ladies
Lorraine was not feeling well this afternoon and had to entertain two of her lady friends who came over for afternoon tea. Being the ‘house of Chateau Rouge’ they asked for the best teas possible, which lead into a discussion of all the options available…and guess what…they chose Earl Grey. Not such a masculine tea after all, must be the flowers!

Wondering through the streets surrounding Spitafields market in London the other day, we came across this fantastic picture. An old Fiat 500 taking on a mighty Audi Q7. We had a great time at the Bath Coffee Festival in Bath. It was our first trip out to that part of the country since launching in Harvey Nichols. It was a fantastic weekend, and always a pleasure to visit beautiful Bath! Through serving plenty of tea samples over the 2 days, running demonstration workshops and with having the opportunity to meet hundreds tea and coffee lovers alike; I thought it would be good to highlight the main questions asked about Speciality Leaf Tea. Tea popularity is definitely on the rise and a whole tea ‘re-education’ under way – a journey of tea discovery and hopefully discovering something remarkable along the way.
