Drinking loose leaf tea has never been easier. At Chateau Rouge, we really love collecting teapots, and after tasting new teas; teapots may well just be our second most favourite past-time. We have over the years, tried literally hundreds of different teapots of all shapes and sizes, and believe us, no two teapots are created equal! So after years of trial and error, we have selected this range of speciality teapots so that you too can enjoy tea to its fullest.

    Green 'Bamboo' Japanese Iron Teapot

    Break tradition with this beautiful green Japanese iron kyūsu (or teapot) handmade exclusively in Iwate Japan by skilled craftsmen, in one of only 2 areas producing these teapots dating back to the 17th century. A smaller version of the tradiional Tetsubin iron teapots which were used on open fires, the kyūsu became popular in Japan in the 19th century as 'status symbols'.


    Decorated in the traditional Japanese bamboo design, this teapot is perfect for all occasions and enjoyed equally with all types of tea. Glazed with enamel on the inside and with a fitted tea strainer, these teapots are built to last.
