Delicious second flush from Nepal. Nepal tea industry has been slow to develop, but the fantastic, little-known, Darjeeling-style teas from this fabled Himalayan land are starting to make waves. This wonderfully complex tea second flush from our gardens high up in the mountains, delivers a full bodied jammy sweetness, with black pepper, caramel and hazelnut flavours that linger tantalisingly on the tongue. A fantastic second flush that keeps well from our special award winning tea garden in Nepal. Nestled high in the mountains and not available on any of the tea markets, this rare loose-leaf black tea is defniately amongst the finest in the world. Nepal with similar growing conditions to neighbouring Darjeeling, currently grows arguably the best 'new teas' in the Himalayas.


In 1863 Gajraj Singh Thapa, administrator of Ilam, planted Nepal’s first two tea gardens there, with saplings his brother-in-law, the Prime Minister, had been given by the Chinese Emperor. For decades there was little expansion, partly due to Nepal’s remoteness – lack of roads meant tea exports had to be transported on foot. But today eco-friendly methods and young plantations in their prime producing exceptional quality leaves, mean teas from Nepal are gaining connoisseurs’ attention.


Using a heaped teaspoon (3 grams) of tea and 2 infusions per serving:
